Evil has met its Match.
Paraffin, Vermont, is home to the Grosholtz Candle Factory. There, Poppy finds something dark and unsettling: a room filled with dozens of startlingly lifelike wax sculptures. Later, she’s shocked when one of the figures—a teenage boy who doesn’t seem to know what he is—jumps naked and screaming out of the trunk of her car. Before she can return him to the factory, a fire destroys the mysterious workshop. With the help of the wax boy, who calls himself Dud, Poppy tries to find out who was behind the fire. Instead, she discovers that some of the townspeople are starting to look a little . . . waxy.

Something isn't right in this house.
Growing up in a Victorian mansion in the middle of the woods, Lucy and her best friend and cousin, Margaret, know the ancient hallways inside out. Or so they think . . .
When her Aunt Penelope disappears, Lucy finds herself devastated and alone. Margaret has begun spending a LOT of time in the attic, claiming she can hear her mother's voice whispering from the walls.
Shut out by her cold, distant father, Lucy watches helplessly as her cousin's sanity slowly and completely unravels.
And then she begins hearing voices herself . . .
